Business leaders shine at Zim Ceo’s Network awards

Business executives from different walks of life were recognized in the at the recent Zimbabwe CEO’s Network awards.

The Zimbabwe CEO Network is a customer-focused CEO and executive development organisation that provides its members with the broadest and deepest range of services.

The business leaders who won were selected based on outstanding business performances such as demonstrated leadership and innovation, inspiration to others as well as degree of service.

Speaking at the awards ceremony, guest of the honour at the awards ceremony Plaxedes Wenyika who is a popular musician challenged leaders to change the gloomy African narrative

“I just want to remind every single person in this place that whatever gift you have been given own it, the world is waiting for you to show up. We went through COVID-19 and we learnt a lot of lessons, the challenge that comes to us now is what is the next step and how do we make the world a better place,

“Let it not only be a celebration and recognition of how amazing you have been as a winner or nominee, but may it become a platform where we take advantage come together show brilliance and make a difference in our country,” Wenyika said.

Victoria Ruzvidzo, Philipa Chinhoyi, Smelly Dube and Nomhle Maggie Mliswa were amongst the outstanding women in business category.

Speaking to BusinessMail Managing Director of Summerhill Farm Nomhle Maggie Mliswa expressed her joy over her accolade and she believes that the award is a life game changer.

“It was not the will to win this award but the will to prepare to win that made the whole difference.

“I want to thank Zimbabwe CEO’s Network for recognising me and all my family and  friends for the support and encouragement. Farming is not easy but we have to keep pressing on.

“It is also very encouraging as it gives me more zeal to look forward to another season as we work towards Food Security and propelling the country towards achieving the 2030 vision of reaching the upper middle class economy,” she said.

Other notable winners include Takemore Mazuruse who won the outstanding public relations and corporate affairs leader, Pikirayi Dekete  who bagged the public sector leader award, amongst others.
