The 2020 Zimdancehall awards championship, Sesfikile dancing crew is appealing for financial help towards a dancing competition to be held in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Sesfikile dancing group is among other dancing groups which were nominated for Dance Africa Dance competition.
Cypren Kudakwashe Makoni (King Zepe), who is the leader told BusinessMail showbiz that they are failing to raise the required amount for transport.
“As Sesfikile, we are in need of 700 United States Dollars for transport to South Africa,” he said.
He added that travelling documents are also a big problem as Zimbabwe is battling to clear a passport backlog of 256 000 since March 2019.
“Among the participating members, only one member has a travelling document (passport). Other group members applied for passports in 2019,” he added.
Auditions for selecting participants in the series “Dance Africa Dance Season 1” the contest is being organized by ZEE TV South Africa (PTY) Ltd. The contest is meant to ignite the passion for dancing groups among 10 countries across Africa.
According to ZEE TV, countries will compete from the 23rd of June 2021 to 16 July 2021 giving the opportunity of showcasing best moves to different Bollywood Tunes.
During the competition, Africa will meet India so as to create a unique dance fusion “African Indian Fusion” of vibrant rhythms and cultures.
