Amalgamated Rural Teachers Union of Zimbabwe (ARTUZ) has called for the involvement of the corporate world and the community in its newly launched educational campaign under the name #SaveOurEducation.
ARTUZ is an organisation founded in 2009, working towards the improvement of the working conditions of rural teachers as well as the right to education in rural areas of Zimbabwe.
The newly #SaveOurEducation campaign will focus on discussing the educational issues and give a platform to all the citizens in taking a role in protecting the right to education.
Addressing the media in Harare, ARTUZ president Obert Masaraure, said they are reaching out to the whole community including the corporate world to take part in this campaign which will spearhead the reviving of the education system of the country.
“We are going to carry out more tactics that are likely to save our future education and we are likely to do that as a unified force with the community and the corporate world.
Masaraure said their members will lead the campaign in different provinces and to arrange an educational board that will encompass all the interested citizens of Zimbabwe.
“We are also going to carry out artistic visuals where the community will air out their concerns and solutions through art. We are calling for the involvement of the local community and the local corporates to take part in this campaign,” Masaraure said.
